The Highlands is the home of golf – hundreds of thousands visit every year to play the 46 links, parkland and championship courses available.

The Highlands is host to 46 links, parkland and championship courses. The combination of the world renowned quality of our golf facilities, the breathtaking scenery and unpredictable weather conditions, magnetically draws thousands of golfers every year from around the world to take up the challenge. The unparalleled scenic diversity means that one day you can be teeing off atop breathtaking coastal cliffs, while the next morning will find you putting on a perfect green with an incredible mountain backdrop framing the scene. To the famous names of Skibo, Royal Dornoch and Nairn, you can add the Spey Valley course at Aviemore, designed by veteran course architect Dave Thomas. In addition, two new courses are currently under construction at Castle Stuart, en route for Nairn and just five minutes from Inverness Airport. One is a links course and the other a spectacular parkland course, both due to be open in 2008. The architect is the respected American, Mark Parsinen, who also co-designed the Kingsbarns Golf Links at St Andrews. Ness Castle Lodges also co-own the Royal Marine Hotel in Brora, Sutherland, which is situated adjacent to the magnificent golf course designed by the incomparable James Braid.
